It is impossible to perfectly preserve speed, so Sybil will always slow down some amount during each Bunny Hop.
With Sun Greaves
When Sybil has Sun Greaves, it is useful to kick mid-air during each bunny hop, as it increases the time between each contact with the ground, keeping your speed higher, so long as the kick is in the same direction of movement.
